Lifts, random women, suits, office blocks, workshops, a busted TV and a baby ... just some of the components making Disarm's brand new video "With A Gun Barrel (Between Your Teeth, You Speak Only In Vowels)".
This video is the first taken from their EP "In The Absence of All Good, We Become Animals" (yes - they like long titles). It was excellently shot by Fight Back Films in an old office block. The video shows Disarm getting into a lift (quite nicely suited and booted - don't they scrub up well?) and bouncing around like mentalists. While most hardened acts can sound like someone has poured water on a Gremlin, Disarm dabble in songs about death, destruction and zombies - laden in shout-along choruses and crunchy riffs. About the new EP "In The Absence of All Good, We Become Animals":
After a rip-roaring assault of hard rock in 2008 on their first album “By Any Means Necessary”, Disarm have been through the mills and have come back better and stronger than ever – punching through the proverbial ceiling with a brand new furious 5-track EP - "In The Absence of All Good, We Become Animals".
Veering off into a somewhat more furious direction, frontman Brad comments on the EP: “I'm really proud of what we've put down, and I'm really excited about where we can take it from here. We've always had a heavy and slightly nasty edge anyway, it's not like we were renowned for our heart-felt ballads, so from having a pretty shitty past year or so I guess it's just brought that out even more. Actually, the EP title sums it all up”
Dirty heavy grooves and sing along anthems dominate this EP which was recorded at Redfern Studios in Sheffield.
Years of relentless touring and scratching around in the dirt for pennies, broken vans, bonkers drummers, surprise children, countless fuck-ups and endless bad luck are enough to make any band want to quit – but Disarm are still at it, making the music they believe in, their way.
