Between decades of guitar greatness and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, it’s pretty safe to say that Jeff Beck has reached legendary status.
But Classic Rock magazine has decided to make it official by bestowing Beck with a Living Legend Award, according to Ultimate Classic Rock.
"I’m really a backroom boy, not a mainstream rock act," he told BBC News. "It means someone is out there looking at what I’m doing, which is really nice."
Beck will pick up his trophy at The Classic Rock Roll of Honour ceremony on November 9, hosted by Kiss’s Gene Simmons.
The guitarist said that he continues to be inspired by a great variety of music. "Maybe I’ll hear an opera singer and go home and write a heavy metal riff," he said. "It’s just what music does to me. It’s hard to explain." Source:Gibson.com
