October 12, 2011 is the release day of the RAIN’s new work “XXX”, subtitled “30 years on the road”. So many are the years spent on tour by the band, working hard in order to be a solid touchstone in the Italian (and not only) rock and metal panorama. The three X’s of the title represent number 30 in Roman numerals, but, ironically, they are also the symbol of highly erotic films, eroticism being often present in the band’s texts. This work is a sort of celebration of the thirty years since 1980, but far from being a compilation or a “best of”, it’s a choice of 13 songs, from the previous 8 albums, re-adapted and re-arranged, masterized by Mats “Limpan” Lindfords in the famous Cutting Room Studios in Stockholm. The result is an elaborate album, modern but still with hard & heavy sonority, the brand of the band. “XXX” is distributed by Aural Music and will be available in cd and vinyl; it can also be downloaded on digital supports.
