Nearly Two Dozen People Arrested At California's 'Big Four' Festival

According to KPSP-TV, more than 20 people were arrested at this past Saturday's (April 23) "Big Four" concert at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California.

The all-day festival featured the so-called "Big Four" bands of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH — sharing the stage in the U.S. for the first time ever, drawing an estimated 50,000 people.

Indio Police spokesman Ben Guitron told KPSP-TV that a total of 21 people were arrested between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. — the time the concert was winding down. Most were alcohol-related, "drunk and disorderly" behavior, according to Guitron. A few drug arrests were made as well, he said.
